Your Job Search

At Branford Hall, our Career Services department wants to help you conduct the best job search possible. We work with you one-on-one to figure out the best strategies for finding a new career that matches your skills and interests. Here’s how we help you:

Resumes and cover letters

Potential employers will want to see your resume, and a good resume and cover letter can help you get an interview. We are ready to help. We will work with you one-on-one to create a resume that describes your job skills, your experience, and your education. We will help you format it so that employers can learn everything they need to know about you.

A good resume is just the start. We want your cover letter to get noticed too. Our Career Services specialists will help you get comfortable with what to say as you write your cover letter and what employers want to know about you. Whether it is an online job application or a conventional paper application, our Career Services specialists will help you prepare what you need.

Making connections in your job search

An important part of looking for a job is making connections with people in your field. The more connections you have in your field, the more likely it is that someone may help you find a job lead. The Career Services specialists at Branford Hall can help you begin to establish a network in your new field. We can steer you toward opportunities, such as job fairs, informational interviews, or organizations that you can join to learn more about your field.

Interviews

Even if you have the perfect set of job skills, you could lose out on a job opportunity if your interview skills are not strong. At Branford Hall, our Career Services specialists want you to learn how to best sell yourself and your skills in an interview setting. With lots of practice, and some mock interviews, we will help you get comfortable and confident with interviewing before you get in front of your first potential employer. With our help, you will be ready for what the employer might ask you and what you need to do to prepare.
