Computer Networking Management at Branford Hall
The Computer Networking Management program at Branford Hall provides students with the skills they need to excel in their IT careers. You will learn the process of supporting computers, the skills of a bench technician, and the techniques of a desktop support technician. From there you’ll move into the networking arena, learning the foundations of network administration and security. We even include a program called “ethical hacking” where you learn the art of network defense.

Computer Support Technology
|
The student will become knowledgeable in the Personal Computer Industry, and will be introduced to the necessary concepts and skills required to become a CompTIA A+ Certified Technician. (Taking the certification exam is not part of the course, but students may decide to take it on their own.) This course is designed to provide individuals with knowledge of hardware, software, elements of security, and soft skills such as customer support. |

Support Operating Systems I and II
|
These two courses are designed to teach beginning information technology students how to install, configure, and administer a desktop operating system. The student will learn how to manage a Windows XP desktop operating system in a variety of environments.

Network Operating Systems I and II
|
These two courses teach the student how to configure, administer, and troubleshoot network elements from user accounts to server security. The students will also learn how to create, configure, and manage network resources.

Network Security
|
This course covers network goals such as system threats and risks, protecting networks and operating systems, and securing access to network resources by using encryptions, authentications, and intrusion detection systems. Students will also learn how to discover vulnerabilities in both computers and networks.

Ethical Hacking
|
This course is designed to use the students’ knowledge of networking and networking security and introduce them to security testing. By using the knowledge, tools, and methodologies used by hackers to gain unauthorized access to a network, the students will learn how to protect networks from attacks.
