It helps balance blood sugar and temperature, relieve headaches, and reenergizes the mind and body. However, water also helps balance your appetite and helps prevent overeating. Avoid drinking carbonated or sugary liquids that can add excess fat into your diet. Drink 64 ounces, or 8 glasses, of water each day to see the best results. Plus, you can purchase a reusable water bottle or canister which will save you money and help the environment!
3. Include Vitamin C in your diet
Vitamin C can help prevent illnesses and keep the immune system strong. Vitamin C is thought to prevent various cancers, eye disease, and promote healthy skin. It can also maintain a healthy heart. You can find vitamin C in foods like red peppers, carrots, potatoes, citrus fruits, and green vegetables like broccoli, spinach, kale, and Brussel sprouts.
4. Eat smaller portions slowly
Instead of binge eating, make sure to eat balanced meals throughout the day. When you eat smaller portions slowly, you can fill up on the nutrients you need without overeating. You can not only control your appetite, but it helps your body process foods more quickly. Estimate how much food you eat in each sitting. Use a measuring cup, smaller containers, or portioned control meal plates to maintain the amount of food you eat. Most food measurements should be the size of your palm. If you snack, make sure it’s a healthy option like dark chocolate or trail mix. Eating more slowly also helps you process meals better. Wait twenty minutes after you eat for your body to feel full.
5. Start your day with a healthy breakfast
You can start the day off right by enjoying a healthy breakfast. It is the most important meal of the day because it reenergizes your body after a long night’s sleep and helps prepare you for the upcoming day. The American Dietetic Association suggests that you should eat a breakfast consisting of whole grains, fruit, lean proteins, and fat-free dairy products. Here are some nutritious breakfast options:

- Non-processed meats
- Fruits and vegetables
- Grilled turkey
- Whole grain sandwich with lean meat and low-fat cheese
6. Avoid processed and fatty foods
Processed foods, like chips, may be tasty to eat every once in a while. However, try to avoid processed foods most of the time. When you go grocery shopping, ask yourself if the foods you are buying are naturally grown or raised. If the product lists artificial additions, it’s made with unnatural ingredients and chemicals. Processed foods contain harmful chemicals that can negatively affect your health in the long-term. Genetically modified foods (GMOs) are linked to diabetes, poor behavior, and liver damage. Aim to go natural!
