Medical Billing and Coding students know what giving means
Albany, NY—As the holiday season approaches, it’s a time to extend a hand to those who are less fortunate and share what we can. Branford Hall wishes to acknowledge the generous spirit of the students at the Albany, NY campus. On a student’s budget, it’s not always easy to make ends meet, but our students still find a way to give.
This November, students in our medical assistant training program and medical billing and coding program participated in a food drive for a local food pantry. Their donations helped families throughout the Albany region to enjoy a more bountiful Thanksgiving holiday. This kind of selfless giving is a true sign that our students give from the heart.
Students at the Albany campus were also given the opportunity to take a break from their classes in order to attend a potluck lunch. With contributions from students and staff, everyone enjoyed a small feast together. Social events like this are just one of the many ways that we encourage students and staff to get to know one another.
Why are social events important? We want students to feel like they are part of the school, and we want them to know that they’ve got our support. Remember, your success is important to us! We hope that by feeling a part of the “Branford Hall family,” you will want to come to class, learn your lessons, ace your tests, and find success here.
Getting the most out of your time at Branford Hall
One of the first keys to success is good attendance. For this reason, the Albany campus held an attendance raffle. Students who attended class in the days surrounding the November holiday were entered into a raffle for a free set of scrubs. This small token was meant to emphasize the importance of attending all your classes. Kudos to all of our students who have great attendance!
In addition to the attendance raffle, we are having the Perfect Attendance competition in December. If your entire class has perfect attendance for one week, you get to have a dress down day! Teamwork is the key to earning a dress down day, and we know our students can do it!
Why is attendance so important? First, attending your classes is the way you are going to get the most out of your education. You don’t want to miss your instructors’ lessons, and you don’t want to miss the chance to practice your job skills. Missing just one day can put you behind. It can be difficult to do your current work at the same time as making up the work you missed.
The second reason that attendance is so important is that your attendance is a sign of your future work attendance. When you are in the world of work, showing up to your job every day on time is critical to keeping your job! Career school is the perfect place to get used to this!
Our Albany students are learning these important life lessons on top of all the practical job skills they experience every day. Hats off to our students, and keep on being as great as you are!
