At Branford Hall, we offer more than just job training. We help you every step of the journey toward your new career, from training, to resume, to job search. Our Career Services department is here to help you find the job that’s right for you with a variety of assistance:
Resumes and cover letters
Potential employers will want to see your resume, and a good resume and cover letter can help you get an interview. We are ready to help. We will work with you one-on-one to create a resume that describes your job skills, your experience, and your education. We will help you format it so that employers can learn everything they need to know about you.
A good resume is just the start. We want your cover letter to get noticed too. Our Career Services specialists will help you get comfortable with what to say as you write your cover letter and what employers want to know about you. Whether it is an online job application or a conventional paper application, our Career Services specialists will help you prepare what you need.
Making connections in your job search
An important part of looking for a job is making connections with people in your field. The more connections you have in your field, the more likely it is that someone may help you find a job lead. The Career Services specialists at Branford Hall can help you begin to establish a network in your new field. We can steer you toward opportunities, such as job fairs, informational interviews, or organizations that you can join to learn more about your field.
Even if you have the perfect set of job skills, you could lose out on a job opportunity if your interview skills are not strong. At Branford Hall, our Career Services specialists want you to learn how to best sell yourself and your skills in an interview setting. With lots of practice, and some mock interviews, we will help you get comfortable and confident with interviewing before you get in front of your first potential employer. With our help, you will be ready for what the employer might ask you and what you need to do to prepare.
One of the great benefits of a Branford Hall education is the on-the-job training that you receive while you are still a student. Many of the programs include an externship or internship where you get to apply what you have learned in the classroom in an actual work setting.
During the placement, qualified personnel will be there by your side as you try out your new skills. Externships and internships are a unique learning experience, and completing your placement successfully is a requirement for graduation. For example, you might have the opportunity to work in a legal office, business office, or medical setting. Qualified staff will supervise your work and offer guidance along the way. Along with a sense of achievement, you will have actual real-world experience you can list on your resume. You will also have the opportunity to make connections with other people who work in your new career field.
An added advantage of this on-the-job training is the chance to meet a potential employer. Some of our students have been hired for permanent positions by their externship site. Others find that including the externship experience on their resume gives them an advantage during their job search. And nearly all students agree that the hands-on experience helps them be better prepared for their first job in their new field.

We are here for you after you graduate too. As long as you graduated in good standing, you can come back for a refresher on a course that you have previously taken, or additional career advice to help you find a job that fits your skills.
