Three great programs help Long Island students get started in the workforce
Are you looking for a career training school in Long Island? The Branford Hall Career Institute is located in Bohemia, and offers three engaging career programs for interested students. Our programs can be completed in less than one year. This means that next year at this time, you could be on the job market with a whole new set of skills, ready to start a new career!
Medical Assistant: Becoming a medical assistant may be within your reach! The program at our Bohemia campus can be completed in less than one year’s time. No previous experience is required. Medical assistants are important professionals who contribute to the successful delivery of healthcare services. They work in medical offices and hospitals, where they offer assistance to nursing staff and doctors. They prepare exam rooms, take patient vital signs, record information in patients’ records, and help with administrative tasks. If you can picture yourself working in a medical office, this could be a good career for you.
Medical Billing and Coding: One of the interesting job fields that has arisen in the healthcare industry is that of the medical biller and coder. These professionals are responsible for processing health insurance claims. They are trained in a coding system called the International Classification for Diseases (ICD-10), which is used to assign medical codes to medical services that patients receive. These codes are needed on the insurance forms to insure that the reimbursements are made. This is a good choice for someone who wants to work in healthcare, but prefers office work over working directly with patients.
HVAC/R: Heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration is a trade program offered at our Bohemia campus on Long Island. You will learn to install, maintain, trouble-shoot, and repair common HVAC/R systems for both residential and commercial customers. Like many fields, the field of HVAC/R is becoming more hi-tech and more conscious of environmental impacts. At Branford Hall, you will learn the skills you need to work in today’s modern HVAC/R industry. If you are someone who likes to work with your hands, you may enjoy a career in this field.
How to apply for career training school
At our Bohemia campus, you can apply for our programs at any time of the year. Our admissions are done on a rolling basis, and typically new classes start up every 6 to 8 weeks or so. We ask that you have a high school diploma or equivalent (like a GED). Other than that, the main qualification is a desire to learn!
If you want to apply, the best way to start is to come take a tour of our facility. This will help you decide whether Branford Hall is the school for you. While here, you should meet with an admissions representative, who can tell you about the programs and the process for applying for financial aid.
