Health Claims Specialist
Playing a critical role in the modern healthcare system, health claims specialists navigate the world of health insurance and medical benefits. Also known as medical billers and coders, these professionals process claims so insurance companies can reimburse healthcare providers for services patients receive. Health claims specialists also determine the accurate coding for procedures and handle related billing matters. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a medical office without providing direct care to patients. Training covers navigating insurance forms and using electronic health records, as well as essential medical terminology and codes for diagnoses and procedures.
